Beyond Sobriety
A monthly conversation about
growth, meaning, and long-term recovery
What Has Recovery Built
Discovering the Assets We Already Have
Wednesday, October 7 at 12:00 pm CT • Live Online
For people in long-term recovery who want to keep growing, exploring,
and discovering what recovery can become.
The MasterClass is intentionally small to make room for conversation and connection.
This is a guided conversation, not a lecture. Participation is always invitational.
Recovery gives us more than sobriety.
Over time, we build strengths, relationships, practices, resources, and ways of living
that help sustain recovery and support continued growth.
In this MasterClass, we’ll begin exploring those assets together:
what we already have, what we may have overlooked, and what we may still want to build.
This session is designed for people who are:
Established in recovery and interested in continued growth
Curious about what recovery has already built in their lives
Interested in thoughtful conversation, reflection, and shared experience
Open to discovering strengths and resources they may not have recognized as recovery assets
What happens in the MasterClass
Each MasterClass begins with a theme and a few ideas and questions to get us started.
From there, we explore together through reflection, conversation, and shared experience.
There is no pressure to speak. You can participate in the conversation, listen, reflect—or do some of each.
During October and November, we’ll be exploring the assets recovery helps us build—
and how those assets can support continued growth and a fuller life.
About Barry
Barry A. Lehman works at the intersection of recovery, counseling, writing, and teaching.
Through Mastering Recovery he focuses on recovery as an ongoing practice of growth, discovery, and formation.
Drawing on decades of personal and professional experience in recovery, Barry brings ideas and questions to the MasterClass—but not all the answers.
The conversation draws on the experience, insight, and questions of everyone in the room..
